Great day!

We are now headed back to the hotel!   We have had a very full (Fitbit says 6.07 miles!) and successful day!   It rained...but we made the best of it and it didn't slow us down!    Highlights of the day include going up into the Washington Monument, Ford's Theater, Newseum, Shrine, and lots of Memorials including 911 at the Pentagon.

We have another packed day tomorrow....beginning with our Wreath Laying and tour of Arlington!    Kids are tired but they are engaged, and insightful.   I think they are having a great time....learning so much and being with each other!

Jefferson Memorial

Rain doesn't stop us!

We are surviving and dodging the rain!

They loved the Shrine❤️

Great day!

We had a great day today and the kids really enjoyed the play at the Kennedy Center!   We are back at the hotel and getting settled for much needed sleep!   Another full day tomorrow....which has great potential for rain....bring on the rain gear!

Shear Madness

They loved the play at The Kennedy Center! It was indeed SHEER MADNESS!

Lincoln Memorial Fun!

Memorials....

We learned so much about the sacrifices of so many men and women for our country and for our freedom....the quote at the Korean War Memorial says...."Freedom isn't Free"....kids have been awesome.

My Vernon....beautiful on the river...

Quote of the morning....

"How cool is it that we get to visit the house where GeorgeWashington
Lived.  How many people can say that!  We are so lucky"😍

Looks who is ready for the day!!

All snug as bugs!

They are all in their rooms...and in theory, in bed!
We had an awesome compliment from the hotel supervisor.   When we arrived he said to me, "I remember your school, they are always so polite.   They each said thank you to me when I held the door open for them and that doesn't happen very often." We take for granted that our kids would be respectful and polite, and yet it's times like this that I am reminded that we have great kids and not all kids/schools represent themselves like we do!   Proud Principal Moment!  Thanks for sharing your kiddos with us❤️

It's a beautiful day!

DC here we come!

We had a great day in Philly!   The kids were AWESOME!!  People commented all over the city how engaged and insightful they were.  We saw lots of great things....Fitbit said we walked 5.56 miles....and we really only covered one square mile.....we just walked it a lot!   We've had dinner and we are on the road to the hotel!    Kids are very excited for their day tomorrow....but right now the bus is silent...tired and watching National Treasure!

It's all about Ben Franklin here!

28 kids on trip???

Mr Schantz begging Aliyah for candy! Look at that pouty face!

Liberty Musuem...

Motto here is...."Live Like a Hero"

Liberty Bell

Girls are 'connected'

On our way to Independence Hall...girls are connected and listening to music! 💃

And we're off...

Completely uneventful (which is the best kind) night sleeping....kids were exhausted, happy to change/shower, and get to bed last night!   But now....they are up, packed, and most importantly fed!!    And we are off to explore the City of Brotherly Love!!!  Happy Monday!

Greetings from Cherry Hill, NJ...

We are all settled in the hotel...hopefully you have heard from your kiddo....if not, you may want to call them....😏

Today was a great day....they handled the bus travel great and enjoyed the visit in Lancaster and a plentiful meal as well!

Busy day tomorrow in Philly!

Greetings from Lancaster, PA!

Learning lots about the lives of the Amish.  Students go to school only until 8th grade....here they are in a one room schoolhouse!

Good morning!

We had a relatively good night's sleep on the bus...we are currently in Pittsburgh!

Just celebrated the "Welcome to Pennsylvania" Sign

And we've cleaned up, been fed and watered and all is happy in the world!

Still sleepy heads...

We still have lots of sleep heads...and somehow the leader of the boys decided it would be a good idea to create a fort with his blankets...and others must've agreed!
